For my 29th birthday I was hosting a fancy dinner, and my vegan friend Jessica (From The Vegan Project) was to be in attendance. I teased her about not being able to eat anything, and commented that she would be served "pencil shavings and tepid tap water".
At the time I got quite a kick out of it, but now that I'm vegan it seems that the joke is on me!
